About the Aurora Neuroinclusion Program

Services Australia’s Aurora Neuroinclusion Program (Aurora) aims to improve work and career outcomes for people with an autism or ADHD diagnosis.

Before you apply, check if you’re eligible.

To be eligible, you need to provide evidence of a diagnosis of either:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder/Condition, including autistic disorder (autism), Asperger’s syndrome, childhood disintegrative disorder, or pervasive developmental disorder not otherwise specified (PDD-NOS)
  • Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

Evidence may include either:

  • a full diagnostic report or a redacted section of your report that states autism or ADHD as a diagnosis
  • a letter from a psychologist, psychiatrist or general practitioner confirming a diagnosis of autism or ADHD
  • information confirming your diagnosis from a supporting agency such as the NDIS or a Disability Employment Services provider.

Brief Description

Administrative Support Officers provide administrative, operational and IT support services to the Assessment Services Branch (ASB) as part of the Assessment Services National Administration Team (ASNAT).

Administrative Support Officers assist customers across a range of payments, programs and services via one or more service delivery channels.  They assess customer and stakeholder needs, appointment management for Employment Services Assessments and Job Capacity Assessments, entitlements and obligations, encourage the use of self managed services, support operations and collaborate with others in the provision of services.

What you’ll do:

As an Administrative Support Officer, you work as part of a multi-skilled team to:

  • provide administrative support to the Assessment Services Branch
  • actively manage ESSWeb appointment availability, screen and book Employment Services Assessments and Job Capacity Assessment appointments
  • assist customers to access, navigate or interpret a range of agency programs and services including Assessment Services appointment options
  • identify and prioritise customers who are potentially vulnerable, in distress or who have accessibility issues, and escalate to senior staff
  • work with Administration Service Officers and Assessors to ensure correct payments and information are provided to customers, and escalate enquiries where appropriate
  • resolve routine customer and provider enquiries at first contact and escalate if required
  • assess customer needs, requirements, entitlements and obligations
  • advise customers on legislation, policy, procedures, payments and services administered by the agency
  • resolve routine customer complaints, and escalate complex complaints and systemic issues

Associate Test Engineer

Brief Description

Associate Test Engineers ensure that test efforts are effectively executed and allocated activities are completed in accordance with agreed test guidelines. They work under the support and direction of senior staff and exercise a degree of independent judgment to make decisions, relying on their skills and knowledge. They exercise discretion when interpreting and applying procedures and guidelines.

Associate Test Engineers undertake their work to achieve results according to agreed goals and business plans. The Social Security and Welfare Systems Branch is responsible for the agency’s Centrelink Master Program IT systems for Families, Child Care, Paid Parental Leave, Dad and Partner Pay, Disabilities, Carers, Parenting and Pension customers.

Brief Description

Government Lawyers undertake core legal functions including providing straightforward legal advice, preparing briefings and litigation files, advocacy work and projects. Government Lawyers work under the support and general direction of senior lawyers and assist with legal matters associated with:

Government Lawyers in the Litigation Branch manage Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) merits review matters, on behalf of Services Australia and its client policy Departments in a range of matters including review of decisions made under:

  • social security legislation
  • family assistance legislation
  • child support legislation.

The Litigation Branch also manages appeals to federal courts.

The role of a Government Lawyer within the Litigation Branch includes:

  • personally appearing and having carriage of matters before the AAT as an advocate
  • providing advice on decisions of the AAT including potential appeals
  • managing a case load of litigated matters, including by meeting statutory timeframes, complying with Tribunal and Court legislation, rules, directions and orders, and policy Department expectations
  • providing high quality oral and written representation of policy Departments in AAT proceedings
  • ensuring that alternative dispute resolution (ADR) is fully considered, as early as is possible, in the management of litigated matters

Brief Description

Test management defines overall testing strategies and manages effective planning, monitoring and execution of all testing activities. The Test Engineer ensures that their test is effectively executed and that allocated activities are completed in a structured and consistent manner, in accordance with agreed test guidelines.

Test engineers work under the general direction and support of senior staff and exercise a degree of independent judgement. They plan their own work and contribute to team goals in an environment with competing priorities and change.

The Customer Relationships Systems Branch is responsible for building and maintaining various applications to support staff processing of customer interactions. The branch also provides complex case management capability and has established Robotic Process Automation capability for the agency.

You’ll be an integral component of the team working to actively manage and maintain systems on behalf of other government clients including the Department of Health (DoH), Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) and the Department of Social Services (DSS).

What you'll do:
