Employ for Ability
We know that looking for a job can be hard. Our Employment Pursuit Program (EPP) helps participants gain the skills and confidence needed to navigate the process. The program covers topics such as developing resumes and cover letters for specific roles, finding opportunities, preparing for interviews, and accepting/declining a job opportunity. EPP is a 6-week program, each session consists of a 3-hour small group workshop followed with a one-on-one coaching session to further develop skills and reinforce learnings. The next EPP upcoming starts on Tuesday 17th June. Employ for Ability's Gardening group has been hard at work tending to our plot at the Canberra Organic Growers Society (COGS) Each week Garden Group goes to water, weed, and harvest the wide variety of produce that we grow. They also get the chance to learn plant care, garden design and sustainable practices. Some of our clients do work experience at Goodies Junction where they help sort and arrange donation items for resale. Through doing this work experience participants will learn about inventory management, stock control, safe lifting, and retail. Participants will also learn about reducing landfill, how old items can be given a new life and raising money for charitable causes.
